What to Expect from Your Wedding Photographer on the Big Day

Understanding what to expect from your wedding photographer can help ease any pre-wedding jitters. We are your photographers but most of the time we are the only vendor with a full-day timeline. You should expect your photographer to make a wedding day timeline. With this in mind, communication is key. We will send you a timeline questionnaire asking about key times and moments and filling them out is key for a stressless wedding day.

Here’s a breakdown of my role on your big day.

Before the ceremony begins, I will likely arrive early to capture details like your dress, rings, and venue. This time is also used to take candid shots of the bridal party getting ready. This is also the time to have a first look but we will talk more about that later.

During the ceremony, I will focus on capturing key moments—walking down the aisle, the exchange of vows, and the first kiss. They’ll be there to document every emotional highlight without being intrusive. We will also prepare for your family photos.

At the reception, your photographer will blend in, capturing candid moments of you and your guests enjoying the celebration. Expect a mix of posed family shots and spontaneous laughter, ensuring the spirit of the day is captured.

After your wedding, communication is vital. You should expect a timeline for when you’ll receive your edited photos and albums. Good photographers will keep you informed throughout the process.

Trusting your photographer and maintaining open communication will ensure you get the beautiful memories you envisioned. Enjoy your special day knowing you have a professional capturing every moment!
